COLONY, Kan. — Crest FCCLA is collecting new and gently used clothing through Dec. 1 for a free clothing drive benefiting local families during the holiday season.
Families can fill bags at no cost before and after the school’s Christmas program. The following day, Crest students in pre-kindergarten through 12th grade, along with staff, will have an opportunity to select items before remaining donations are taken to a local thrift store.
The FCCLA Clothes Drive committee is already washing, drying and sorting donations. Organizers say the effort helps families during a potentially stressful financial season while giving usable clothing a second life.
Accepted donations include coats, pants, purses, shoes, shirts, Lancer gear and new undergarments. Clothing should be clean and in good condition; used undergarments, stained, heavily worn or unwashed items will not be accepted.
Donations may be dropped off at the school with Caitlin Callaway or sent with an FCCLA member. For more information, email [email protected].
