BURLINGTON, Kan. — Coffey County Economic Development is inviting residents to participate in a series of community meetings throughout November to discuss the future of trails across the county.
The “Let’s Talk Trails!” initiative will bring public meetings to all six Coffey County communities, giving residents an opportunity to review results from the recent Coffey County Community Trails Survey, learn about potential improvements and share their ideas.
Organizers say the meetings will address proposed trail developments, funding, property rights, maintenance and other concerns raised by residents. Attendees will also receive updates on the countywide trails initiative and have an opportunity to ask questions.
The meetings will be held at local library branches on the following dates:
-
Gridley: Thursday, November 5 — Gridley Branch Library
-
Burlington: Monday, November 9 — Burlington Branch Library
-
LeRoy: Tuesday, November 10 — LeRoy Branch Library
-
Waverly: Thursday, November 12 — Waverly Branch Library
-
Lebo: Tuesday, November 17 — Lebo Branch Library
-
New Strawn: Thursday, November 19 — New Strawn Branch Library
All meetings begin at 6 p.m. and are expected to last approximately one hour.
Coffey County Economic Development encourages residents to attend, whether they support expanding trails, have concerns about potential projects or simply want to learn more.
The meetings are free and open to the public. For additional information, residents can contact organizers at [email protected].
