Two juvenile males were taken into custody Thursday morning after authorities pursued a stolen vehicle from Frontenac into Fort Scott.
Shortly after 6 a.m., a Crawford County Sheriff’s Office deputy located the vehicle traveling north on Parkview Drive in Frontenac. The vehicle had been reported stolen less than an hour earlier in the city of Girard.
When the deputy attempted to stop the vehicle, the driver fled, initiating a pursuit that continued north on the bypass around Arma. An officer with the Arma Police Department successfully deployed a tire deflation device during the pursuit.
The pursuit eventually entered Fort Scott, where it came to an end. The driver and passenger attempted to flee the vehicle on foot but were apprehended almost immediately.
Both occupants, identified as juvenile males, were taken into custody and transported to the Crawford County Sheriff’s Office, where they were processed through juvenile intake.
The Crawford County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Arma Police Department, Fort Scott Police Department and Bourbon County Sheriff’s Office.
