Hutchinson CC Sports Information
The Hutchinson Community College women’s cross country team dropped one spot to No. 11 in this week’s United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) NJCAA Division I women’s national rankings released on Wednesday.
The Blue Dragons were No. 10 after the first regular-season rankings after starting the season ranked No. 15 in the preseason rankings.
Hutchinson finished second in the Terry Masterson Twilight Classic in August, but did not post a team score in the Missouri Southern Stampede on September 20 in Joplin, Missouri.
The Blue Dragons are being led by freshman Mildred Rono, who has two individual race wins this season.
Hutchinson next runs at the Fort Hays State Tiger Open on October 11 in Hays.
The Blue Dragons remain the highest-ranked Jayhawk Conference team this week. After the Dragons, Butler is No. 13, Garden City is No. 14, Dodge City is No. 18, Cloud County is No. 20 and Neosho County is No. 25.
Odessa remains No. 1 this week. Iowa Western is No. 3, followed by New Mexico Junior College of Southern Idaho and Crowder.
The next rankings will be released on October 15.
