Hutchinson Community College sophomore pitcher Aubree Thomas was named the KJCCC Division I softball Pitcher of the Week for Week 11 on Tuesday.
Thomas, a sophomore from Hays, earned a pair of wins over Seward County and Barton to run her season record to 10-1 this season, winning her 22nd and 23rd career games as a Blue Dragon.
For the week, Thomas tossed a complete game in a 5-1 win over Seward County. She allowed five hits and one unearned run with two strikeouts and no walks.
Thomas followed that with 5 2-3 innings of scoreless pitching in a 3-0 win over Barton. Thomas scattered seven hits with two strikeouts. For the week over 12 2-3 innings, Thomas had eight strikeouts and only one walk.
This is the first KJCCC weekly honor this season for Thomas and is the fourth of her Blue Dragon career.
Dreher is the third Blue Dragon this season to earn Player or Pitcher of the Week honors. Fellow pitcher Mia Williams was named the KJCCC Pitcher of the Week on Week 6 and freshman Riley Dreher has been named the league’s Player of the Week three times.
The first-place Blue Dragons play host to second-place Colby at 3 and 5 p.m. on Thursday at Fun Valley.
