Hutchinson Trinity Catholic High School’s Kaid McElgunn made a major statement in his first meet of the season and was highlighted on Sports in Kansas’ Facebook page.

McElgunn, a Kansas Class 2A standout, broke two individual school records Friday at the Halstead Conrad Nightingale Invitational, running 10.84 seconds in the 100-meter dash and 22.03 in the 200-meter dash.

Both marks are currently No. 1 in Class 2A. McElgunn’s 200 also ranks No. 8 across all classes in Kansas.

McElgunn also helped break the school record in the 4×100-meter relay, making it three school records in one meet.
