Nickerson High School senior Delaney Childs placed first in the girls javelin with a throw of 117 feet, 2 inches, Thursday at the Towanda-Circle Varsity Invitational track meet.
Childs set a school record in the girls javelin with a 134-1 effort at the James Thomas Invitational May 1 in Hillsboro. She also has a throw of 130-7.
Childs also placed fourth in the discus with a toss of 94 feet.
Katy King placed fifth in the shot put (32-10.5) and sixth in the discus (91-11).
The Nickerson girls placed 10th in the girls team standings with 19 points.
Kristopher Monroe posted the top effort for the Nickerson boys with a sixth-place finish in the javelin (153-4). Gabe Cesar placed seventh in the 200-meter dash (28.06 seconds) and was 21st in the javelin (102-7).
Zein Rector placed ninth in the discus (126-6) and 32rd in the shot put (34-4).
No boys team scores were listed on the final results for the Circle track meet.
