The Nickerson High School boys cross country team placed first at the Lyons Invitational Tuesday.
Nickerson’s Aiden Brinkley broke the 5K boys school record with a time of 17 minutes, 31.84 seconds.
The Panther varsity boys team’s top five runners earned medals.
“Nearly the entire squad dropped personal bests today, with all but three runners setting brand-new personal records,” said Nickerson cross country coach Dan Brinkley on the school’s Facebook page. “Huge congrats to every single athlete who pushed the pace today. Hard work pays off.”
