Moundridge High School junior Baylee Schriner enters the 2026 cross country season as an accomplished multi-sport athlete with state medals, school records and a state basketball championship already on her resume.
Schriner is a Sports in Kansas cross country runner to watch for the 2-26 fall season.
“With proven success across cross country, track and basketball, Schriner will be one to watch for Moundridge this fall as she looks to make her mark at the 2A state level,” said Sports in Kansas.
Schriner’s career highlights include:
• 19th place: 2025 state cross country
• 1st place: 4×400-meter relay, 2025 state track
• 2nd place Team: 2025 2A state track
• 4th place: 4×800-meter relay, 2026 state track
• 6th place: 4×400-meter relay, 2026 state track
• 2025 2A girls state basketball champion
Schriner has also helped rewrite the Moundridge record books. She was part of the 4×400-meter relay that broke a 30-year-old school record with a time of 4 minutes, 5.61 seconds and the 4×800-meter relay that broke a 25-year-old school record with a time of 10:00.88.
After finishing 19th at state cross country last fall, Schriner has her sights set on making a major jump in 2026.
“I can’t wait for this upcoming season, I feel like I have a lot to prove,” Schriner told Sports in Kansas. “The goal is to get top 5 at state but I would be grateful for top 10.
“I am so thankful for my coach and fellow runners to push me everyday. Everyday is a part of God’s plan.”
