Macksville is 3-0 for the first time since 2022 after defeating Ness City 40-34 in an Eight-Man II football game Friday night.
The Mustangs, who finished 0-9 last season, defeated Pretty Prairie 50-44 in Week 1 and St. John 52-6 in Week 2.
The Mustangs are guided by first-year head coach Jeff Savage.
Macksville hosts Pratt-Skyline (2-1) next Friday. Pratt-Skyline defeated Pretty Prairie 58-12 in Week 3.
Ness City (2-1) will play next Friday at Quinter (3-0). Quinter defeated Stockton 52-0 in Week 3 and has outscored its opponents 140-24.
