The Hutchinson Trinity Catholic High School boys golf tournament won the Heart of America League Tournament by 29 strokes Monday at the par-71 Hesston Golf Course.
The Trinity Celtics posted a 315 score to win the team title. Sterling placed second with a 344 score, followed by Berean Academy 386, Sedgwick 410, Marion 421, Remington 242 and Ell-Saline 474.
Inman did not field enough players to post a team score. The top 10 players received medals.
Hutchinson Trinity’s Miles Blaylock and Tyler Casebolt both led the pack with 5-over-par 76s. Blaylock defeated Casebolt in a playoff to win HOA first-place individual medalist honors.
Three other Trinity Celtics placed in the top 10: Dean Nelson, fourth, 80; Matt Armour, sixth, 83; and Ian Shaw, ninth, 86. Seamus Hogan placed 15th with a 96.
Sterling’s Wyatt Newberry placed fifth with an 83, Cameron Morris was seventh with an 84, Lane Weigel, 10th, 86; Ian Dillard, 11th, 89; Zac Wohler, 13th, 93; and Billy Higgins, 24th, 102.
Berean Academy’s Luke Friesen placed third with an 78, Mason Balzer, 8th, 85; Hunter Pile, 20th, 98; Lila Hamm, 27th, 105; Preston Farney, 28th, 107; and Sophie Hamm, 32nd, 113.
Inman’s Creighton Friesen placed 12th with a 93, followed by Braeden Stutzman, 15th, 95; and Wyatt Jonas, 39th, 131.
Marion’s top-scoring golfer Jayden Stiver placed 14th, 93; followed by Ryan Tharp, 21st, 99; Jacob Tharp, 22nd, 99; and Braxton Looney, 38th, 130.
Whitewater-Remington’s top golfer was Logan Newhouse, who placed 18th with a 97; followed by Mason Artz, 19th, 98; Levi Newhouse, 26th, 104; Bo Green, 36th, 125; Brody Ertz, 37th. 127; James Archer, 41st, 141.
Ell-Saline was led by Tyler Tillberg, who placed 29th with a 110 score, followed by Evan Helm, 34th, 114; Trevor Hunziker, 25th, 116; and Wyatt Allen, 40th, 134.
