HILLSBORO – Freshman Xylavene Beale broke a pair of school record for the third time this outdoor season and four other Hutchinson Community College women’s track and field athletes set personal records on Saturday at the Tabor College Invitational at Wiens Stadium.
The Blue Dragons also earned two new national qualifiers to run their season total for the 2026 NJCAA Outdoor Championships with 16 qualifiers.
Counting the 2026 indoor season, Beale broke here 13th and 14th school records on Saturday, winning both the shot put and discus, where she ranks No. 1 in the NJCAA in both events. Beale broke her own record in the discus with a winning throw of 165 feet, 0 inches (50.30 meters). She broke her own Blue Dragon shot put record with a top effort of 51 feet, 7.25 inches (15.73 meters).
Freshman Valentine Titren finished second in the 100-meter hurdles with a national qualifying and personal-best time of 14.59 seconds. That ranks as the fifth-fastest time in Blue Dragon history.
Sprinter Sidney Holt earned a national qualifying mark in the 100 meters. Holt qualified for nationals with a second-place time of 11.82 seconds, her second fastest career time. Holt was also the Tabor runner-up in the 200 meters with a time of 24.71 seconds.
Sophomore Deisheline Meyer Scott was the runner-up in the shot put with a personal-best mark of 45-10.75 (13.99 meters). She moved into third on the Blue Dragon outdoor shot put career chart. Meyer Scott and placed fourth in the discus with a throw of 125-7 (38.28 meters).
In other top Blue Dragon performances on Saturday at Tabor:
+ Freshman Rosa Min Paulsen was second in the high jump at 5-2.50 (1.59 meters) and was fourth in the long jump at 15-7 (4.75 meters).
+ Sophomore Grace Bender was second in the pole vault clearing 9-1.50 (2.78 meters).
+ Sierra Brooks was third in the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 16.02 seconds.
+ Taya Orth was sixth in the javelin at 120-5 (36.72 meters) and Kora Rex was seventh at 114-0 (34.76 meters).
The Blue Dragons travel to the Emporia State Invitational on Friday and Saturday in Emporia.
