Halstead’s Jordy Schroeder Surpasses 1,000 Assist Mark in Dragons’ Senior Night Sweep

Halstead High School senior Jordy Schroeder surpassed 1,000 assists for the Halstead Dragons Tuesday night and she did it the tough way.

Jordy Schroeder broke her nose diving for a ball in the Hoisington match, but only sat enough to change her uniform and stop the bleeding.

Halstead went 2-0 in the Central Kansas League triangular at the Halstead gymnasium and improved to 17-3 overall..

The Dragons defeated Smoky Valley 2 games to 0 (25-18, 25-15) and Hoisington 2-0 (25-16, 25-19).

Hoisington (21-3) defeated Smoky Valley 2-0 (25-20, 25-20). Smoky Valley’s overall record is 10-11.

Jordy Schroeder celebrated the accomplishment tonight with teammates, friends and family on Senior Night. Other seniors on the Dragons’ team are twin sister Piper Schroeder and Bailey Bernal.

Jordy Schroeder is a four-year varsity starter with an overall 127-18 record. Halstead was a sub-state runnerup her freshman year and 3A state champions her sophomore year.

Jordy Schroeder played opposite hitter her freshman season, middle blocker as a sophomore, setter her junior year and outside hitter/setter as a senior. Her twin sister Piper plays the libero position.

Jordy Schroeder has accumulated 1,161 assists, 100 kill blocks and 500 kills during her career.
