The Hutchinson Community College football team sweeps Jayhawk Conference Player of the Week honors on Tuesday.
The No. 2-ranked Blue Dragons defeated Cisco College 59-7 last Thursday at Gowans Stadium.
Sophomore receiver Bobby Shaw III was the KJCCC Offensive Player of the Week, sophomore defensive end Kameron Graham was the league’s Defensive Player of the Week. Sophomore punter Denzel More collected Special Team Player of the Week honors.
BOBBY SHAW III – Offense
Shaw III had career highs for single-game receptions, receiving yards and touchdowns in the No. 2 Blue Dragons’ 59-7 season opening victory over Cisco College last Thursday.
Shaw had six catches for 108 yards, his first 100-yard receiving game, and 2 touchdowns against the Wranglers.
He caught touchdown passes of 8 and 18 yards.
KAMERON GRAHAM – Defense
While he didn’t play a lot of snaps in the No. 2 Blue Dragons’ season opening 59-7 win over Cisco, sophomore defensive end Cameron Graham made a difference.
Graham had 3 tackles, 2 quarterback sacks and two more quarterback pressures against the Wranglers.
DENZEL MORE – Special Teams
Blue Dragon returning All-American punter Denzel More had only 2 punts in No. 2 Hutchinson’s 59-7 victory over Cisco last Thursday at Gowans Stadium.
Both were impressive.
In the second quarter, Moore booted a career-long 58 yard punt that rolled dead at the Cisco 1-yard line. His third-quarter punt of 57 yards was downed at the Wrangler 11-yard line. Both punts averaged 62.5 yards per attempt with two punts downed inside the opponent 20-yard line.
