Buhler High School’s Isaiah Heredia tied for 29th place at the Kansas Class 4A boys state golf tournament, which took place Tuesday and Wednesday at Hesston Golf Course.
Heredia posted a two-day score of 160 (77-83). He was the only Buhler golfer to make the cut after the first 18 holes on Tuesday.
Buhler posted a 337 score in the first round and did not make the team cut. Nick Chance posted a first-day score of 81, followed by Jace Horning 83, Zach Chance 85, Carson Thibault 88, Ben Gazaway 90.
McPherson also missed the team cut with a 350 score. Cole Cooper tied for ninth with a 146 score (76-70).
Wamego won the Class 4A state team title with a 581 score. Wamego’s Regan Kueker and Independence’s Ethan Small tied for first place at 138, edging out third-place finisher Brody Buessing of Santa Fe Trail, who fired a 139.
The top 20 golfers plus ties received medals.
Bishop Miege placed second in the team standings with a 600 score, followed by Andale 623, Towanda-Circle 627, Santa Fe Trail 629 and Fort Scott 635.
