The Buhler High School girls swim and dive team had a much different meet this week.

They swam at Maize but due to the fact that our girls are so involved (and we love that about them) in many different things in life, girls swam in several races they normally do not in the morning so they could make it to their band and choir concerts.
So relays looked different and entries were different but overall, we still scored points and walked away with a couple of medals and a state consideration time.

The Medley Relay A took 11th with a time of 2:12.83- Hannah Swain, Evey Brooks, Avery Schrader, and Reyne Kaufman.
The 200 Freestyle was next but no team points were scored.
Hannah Swain led the team in the 200 individual medley in 8th place with a state consideration time.
No one scored team points in the 50 freestyle.
Evey Brooks took 10th in diving in this year’s first 11 dive meet for her.
No team points were scored in the 100 butterfly and free style events but there were over 75 entries between the two events!
Reyne Kaufman took 6th in the 500 free with a new PR, Avery Schrader also with a PR was in 9th place.
The 200 free A relay did not score points due to a DQ.
In the 100 backstroke, Hanna Swain earned 5th, and Avery Schrader took 16th.
No points for the 100 breaststroke.
Finally, the A relay took 10 in the 400 freestyle with a time of 4:58.16 – Avery Schrader, Hannah Swain, Addy Tech, and Hannah Whitney.
The team score was 81 points, placing 14th out of 20 teams. With the meet being so big and so many entries, it was amazing to watch the girls step up and do hard work to get any and all points today.
Next week, Buhler Swim and Dive will compete in their home pool for the Hutchinson Meet and at Newton the following night.
