The Buhler High School girls swim team earned first place out of 10 teams with 463 points at the Buhler Invitational Tuesday at their home pool at the Hutchinson YMCA
The medley relay A team of Avery Schrader, Evey Brooks, Hannah Swain and Reyne Kaufman took 2nd with a time of 2:11.4, inching closer to a state qualifying time.
The medley relay B team of Maddi Moore, Harper Kendrick, Regan Walle and Lauren Auxier took sixth place with a time of 2:31.95. The medley relay C team of Mira Koptieva, Addie Maxfield, Hannah Whitney and Payton Thompson took 11th with a time of 3:39.72.
The 200 freestyle was next, with Reyne Kaufman in 4th place, Addy Tech in 6th, Payton Ball in 10th and Maddi Moore in 13th.
Abby Ehret led the team in the 200 individual medley in 11th place with Hannah Whitney in 13th, Berkley Bosley in 14th and Addie Maxfield close behind in 15th.
In the 50 freestyle, Hannah Swain earned 4th place, Avery Schrader in 9th and Harper Kendrick in 14th.
Evey Brooks took 4th and Griffyn Showalter took 5th in diving.
Avery Schrader placed 5th in the 100 butterfly, with Payton Ball placing 10th, Griffyn Showalter in 11th and Addie Maxfield right behind her in 12th.
Regan Walle placed 5th in the 100 freestyle.
Reyne Kaufman won the 500 free again this year. Maddi Moore was in 7th place, Mira Koptieva in 8th and Payton Thompson taking 9th.
The 200 free A relay team of Hannah Swain, Evey Brooks, Harper Kendrick and Addy Tech took 3rd with a time of 2:01.82.
The B relay team of Payton Ball, Griffyn Showalter, Cora Nuttmann and Abby Ehret placed 10th with a time of 2:50.12. The C relay team of Hannah Whitney, Maddi Moore, Addie Maxfield and Mire Koptieva placed 11th with a time of 2:50.12.
In the 100 backstroke, Hanna Swain earned 2nd and Addy Tech took 13th.
Evey Brooks led the team in the breaststroke, earning 6th place. Regan Walle earned 7th and Harper Kendrick took 10th.
Finally, the A relay team of Reyne Kaufman, Avery Schrader, Addy Tech and Regan Walle took 2nd in the 400 freestyle relay by 1/100 of a second, with a time of 4:30.89.
The B relay team of Cora Nuttmann, Payton Ball, Lauren Auxier and Abby Ehret took eighth with a time of 5:25.49. The C relay team of Mira Koptieva, Griffyn Showalter, Berkley Bosley and Payton Thompson took 10th with a time of 6:43.18.
Buhler swimmers and divers will compete in Maize next week.
