Buhler Girls Soccer Team Blanks Salina Central 8-0

The Buhler High School varsity girls soccer team posted an 8-0 shutout against Salina Central Thursday in Salina.

The Crusaders, who have the fifth-best record in Kansas Class 4-1A at 9-4-2, host Wichita Collegiate (2-13) in a varsity-only match at 5 p.m. Friday at Crusader Stadium in Buhler.

“Big road win for the girls tonight as they come home with an 8-0 victory over Salina Central,” said Buhler coach Randall Rank. “Shoutout to Josie Cummins and the defense for earning the clean sheet. Quick turnaround as we’re back at home for our final regular season home match at Crusader Stadium.”

Buhler’s Madi McCool, Lakin Yoder and Zoey Dick each scored two goals. Kenzie Polk and Kennedee Applegate each scored one goal.

One of Dick’s goals came on a penalty kick. Yoder and Polk each had one unassisted goal.

Yoder and Maleigha Alvarez each had two assists. Rorey Waldren also had an assist.

Salina Central dropped to 1-15.
