The Buhler High School girls soccer team finished their regular-season schedule with a 6-0 shutout over Wichita Collegiate Friday at Crusader Stadium and will play the Spartans again in the Kansas Class 4-1A regional playoffs.
The Crusaders improved to 10-4-2 and are the No. 5 seed in the Kansas Class 4-1A West Regional 4 Official pairings were announced by the KSHSAA on Saturday.
Buhler will play No. 12-seed Wichita Collegiate (2-14) at 5:30 p.m. Monday at Crusader Stadium.
“It’s time to reset, refocus and compete,” said Buhler soccer coach Randall Rank. “I’m proud of what this group has accomplished so far, but there’s still more soccer to be played. One game at a time.”
The other Region 4 matchup will be No. 13-seed Winfield (1-15) against Rose Hill (11-5) at 6 p.m. Monday at Rose Hill.
Maycee Kimble scored two goals in the victory over the Wichita Collegiate Spartans on Friday. The other Crusader goals were scored by Kennedee Applegate, Lakin Yoder, Zoey Dick and Maleigha Alvarez.
Taylin Krafels and Camryn White each had 2 assists. Kenzie Polk and Kylie Gregg each had 1 assist.
The Buhler defense and goalkeeper Josie Cummins posted another clean sheet (shutout).
