Buhler Boys Tennis Team 4th, Sterling 5th at Buhler Invitational

The Buhler High School boys tennis team placed fourth and Sterling fifth at the eight-team Buhler Invitational Tuesday.

Valley Center won the team title with 59 points, followed by McPherson with 43, Andover Central 36, Buhler 36, Sterling 32, Goddard Eisenhower 30, Dodge City 11 and Liberal 10.

In singles, Buhler senior Reuben Harder placed fourth and senior Titus Bortzfield finished seventh. In doubles, juniors Jaxton Billette and Quinn Brown placed fifth. Senior Ty Campbell and sophomore Cayden Davis placed 12th.

Sterling junior Jace Darnauer placed first in singles and freshman Lathem Kizzar placed first in the consolation round.

In the Smoky Valley Junior Varsity Invitational Tuesday at Lindsborg, Buhler’s Jackson Tech placed first and Silas Nowlan placed fourth in No. 2 singles.

Buhler’s Shane Schroeder and Linus Duscher placed first in No. 1 doubles. Reece Ricker and Tate Ricker placed first in No. 2 doubles.
