Ad Astra Radio is proud to announce Andale High School senior Rylee Meyer as this week’s Athlete of the Week, presented by Hutchinson Community College.
The week – Meyer had an epic performance at the Class 4A state meet on May 29-30 at Wichita State, winning three events and finishing second in another. Meyer won the 100 meters (11.9
meters), the 200 meters (24.29) and the 300 meter hurdles (43.79), and Meyer was also second in the long jump (18 feet, 4 inches). Meyer scored 38 team points, helping Andale win the team title with 98 points.
The season – Meyer, a senior, was one of the state’s top track athletes. She had the second fastest time in Kansas this season in the 100 (11.61) and 200 (24.29) and also had the third fastest time in the 300 hurdles (43.78). Meyer’s times in the 100 and 200 this year set 4A state meet records.
