2026 KJCCC Football Players of the Week – Week 6

COLBY, Kan. – Wins over ranked Iowa Community College Athletic Conference opponents last week have led to Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference Football Player of the Week honors for Hutchinson Community College wide receiver Nakai Poole, Blue Dragon linebacker Jack Sells, and Dodge City special teams player Sean Heisle.

Nakai Poole (Hutchinson) – KJCCC Football Offensive Player of the Week
Sophomore receiver Naiaki Poole had career highs for receptions, yards, and longest reception in number two-ranked Hutchinson’s 26-0 victory over top-ranked Iowa Western on Saturday at Gowans Stadium. Poole caught five passes for 128 yards and a touchdown against the Reivers. Late in the third quarter, Poole caught a career-long 79-yard touchdown pass from quarterback Randy Phillips that broke the game open, giving the Dragons a 19-0 lead. Poole now has 10 catches for 181 yards and two touchdowns for the season.

Jack Sells (Hutchinson) – KJCCC Football Defensive Player of the Week
Blue Dragon middle linebacker Jack Sells tallied a career-high 12 tackles in leading the number two-ranked Hutchinson to a 26-0 shutout victory over number one Iowa Western on Saturday at Gowans Stadium, handing the Reivers their first shutout loss in program history. Sells had six unassisted tackles and was in on six more tackles as the Blue Dragons administered their third-straight shutout, something that hasn’t been done since 1950. Sells also had 1.5 tackles for loss. Sells now has a team-high 32 tackles with 7.0 tackles for loss and 1.5 quarterback sacks for the season.

Sean Heisle (Dodge City) – KJCCC Football Special Teams Player of the Week
Dodge City football beat number 10 Iowa Central at home, with contributions from all phases of the game. On special teams, Sean Heisle recovered an onside kick in the fourth quarter, leading to the go-ahead touchdown drive for the Conquistadors. Heisle then came up with another big play by recovering a fumble on a kickoff in the final minutes to allow Dodge City to regain possession and run out the clock.
