McPherson
- Veterans Breakfast at the American Legion Post 24 from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m., for all veterans and their guests, sponsored by Gentiva Hospice.
- Veterans Day Ceremony: 11 a.m. at Park Department Building (Old Armory) – 607 W. First St. There will be music by the McPherson High School Band along with a rifle salute by VFW Post #2715 and “Taps” played by Mark Casebeer. The guest speaker will be Admiral Timothy A. Brown, Director, Logistics Division, OPNAV N4L and McPherson native. The ceremony will also be aired on 98.9/1540 KMCP. (**No parade this year due to construction on parade route**)
- Honoring Heroes, Transforming Lives – Wild Valor Fall Fundraiser: Wild Valor seeks to help combat veterans overcoming mental health challenges through in-depth fellowship, programmed peer-to-peer mentoring and experiences in the outdoors.
On the day of the Marine Corps birthday, celebrate and raise funds to provide opportunities to Veterans seeking purpose, peace and comradery. Tickets are $100/person and can be purchased here.

- Veterans Appreciation at the Cedars: Nov. 11 at 7 pm. The public is invited to celebrate at The Cedars Event Center as those serving in the military are recognized.
Larned
- Veterans Donation Drive (November 3rd-9th) All items needed can be dropped off at the Larned Area Chamber, 502 Broadway.
- Veterans Day Parade at Downtown Larned (Veterans meet at the Welcome Inn at 10:45 a.m.)
- Veteran’s Day Breakfast November 11 from 7-9 a.m. before the parade at 11 a.m. The Larned Knights of Columbus is located at 1216 M Rd.
- Veteran’s Day Soup and Pie Luncheon November 11 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Saints Mary and Martha Episcopal Church, 803 Main (Veterans eat free)
Great Bend
- Vietnam Veterans Memorial Ribbon Cutting at the Veterans Memorial Park. 11:00 – 11:30 AM: Avenue of Flags 11:30 AM – Noon: Vietnam Memorial Dedication
Lyons
- Veterans Day Parade: Saturday, Nov. 9, starting at 10 a.m., with line up at 9 a.m. Ceremony immediately to follow at The Gathering Place. Parade will begin at Park Elementary and travel down Commercial Street to South Pioneer Street.
- Reception Following Parade Nov. 9 at 11:15 am at Brew 56, 11 W Main in Lyons. FREE to all veterans by donation, to guests and the public. Finger foods, coffee, tea and soft drinks. All other menu items free to veterans with gluten-free options available as well. Veterans-Sign up for door prizes as well! (Prizes provided by businesses and individuals of the Lyons/Sterling area) Do not need to be present to win.
Iola
- Veterans Day Mess Call (Veterans and 1 Guest) Nov. 9, 2024. The ceremony will begin at 11 a.m. behind the Veterans Wall on the square. In case of inclement weather, the program will move to the North Community Building at 505 N. Buckeye St., in Iola. RSVP required.
Garnett
- Veterans Day Lunch and Supper VFW Auxiliary Fundraiser: Nov. 8 from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Serving Ham & Beans, Chicken Noodle Soup, and Vegetable Beef Soup and Desserts (Suggested Donation: $10 Adult and $6 Child)
