The first of three finalists to be the new Superintendent of Schools in McPherson USD 418 will be interviewed later today (Tuesday).
Ty Rhodes is currently Assistant Superintendent of USD 418 and is in his second year with the district. Prior to that, he was principal at Hesston High School for 11 years, serving as activities director and assistant principal before that. While at Hesston the school received numerous state level recognitions through the Kansas Star Award Program of the Kansas State Department of Education.
Rhodes is the first of three candidates who will be interviewed by the board, and as part of the interview process there will be a community meet and greet from 4-5 PM at the Central Office, 514 North Main, the day of their interview. The other finalists will be interviewed April 20th and April 24th, the name of each finalist will be announced the day of their interview.
The new superintendent will succeed Dr. Shiloh Vincent, who is stepping down June 30th to become executive director of ESSDACK, an educational support services organization based in Hutchinson.
