The process of getting back on in Salina after Monday night’s windstorm is slowly moving forward.

As 11 PM Tuesday there were still just under 11,200 Evergy Customers in Saline County without power, with another 132 in McPherson County where many customers had power come back on Tuesday evening, and 1,158 in Ottawa County.

A major factor in the slower power restoration in the Salina area is related to having to replace some 200 poles, other areas hit hard by the storm had a combined 300.

While the Manhattan and Topeka areas could have most power restored by Wednesday evening, restoration in Salina is uncertain, but additional crews have been brought in.

DS&O Electric Cooperative made considerable progress in part of their service area Tuesday evening, restoring power to nearly all of their customers in McPherson and southwest Saline Counties
