RENO COUNTY, Kan. – At approximately 3:38 pm on August 18th, 2026, Deputies from the Reno County Sheriff’s Office along with KHP, Burton Fire/EMS were dispatched to a train verse pedestrian collision just north of Highway 50 on Rayl Rd, located in eastern Reno County.
During the investigation it was determined a pedestrian stepped in front of the train.
The pedestrian was pronounced deceased at the scene. Our condolences are with the family.
