National 4-H Week is being celebrated Oct. 4–10, highlighting the organization’s work to prepare young people for life and careers through its “Beyond Ready” initiative.
According to National 4-H, the celebration brings together six million youth, more than 3,300 Extension educators, 500,000 volunteers and 35 million alumni. This year’s observance includes two special days encouraging members and supporters to show their 4-H pride and recognize those who make the program possible.
“Go Green” is scheduled for Monday, Oct. 5. Participants are encouraged to wear green, decorate classrooms and offices, or illuminate homes and businesses with green lights. Supporters can share photos on social media using the hashtags #4HBeyondReady and #National4HWeek.
“Thankful Thursday,” Oct. 8, will recognize the mentors, educators and volunteers who make a difference in young people’s lives. Members and alumni are encouraged to share stories thanking people who have supported their 4-H experiences.
