LYONS, Kan. – The Lyons City Council has agreed to request that a new traffic audit be done on the intersection of Main St. and West Ave. Last month, members of the Planning Commission asked the Council to consider the audit be done by the Kansas Department of Transportation.
The Commission believes conditions at the intersection have changed since a 2016 study was done concerning the need for traffic signals.
The Planning Commission is also requesting that stop signs be placed at the intersection of 5th St. and West Ave. North near Augmon Park, and for “Children at Play” signs to be placed at both ends of the 100 block of E Trusdell. Concerns have been expressed over traffic endangering children in both locations.
