Save the date! The annual Light Up Hutch Downtown Christmas Parade and Festival is set for Saturday, December 6th!

Ad Astra Radio and our Community Partners are busy planning a magical day of holiday activities for you and your family. Spend the day with us in Hutch!

It all begins the night before on December 5th with Holiday Happy Hour at the Hutchinson Zoo. Enjoy holiday festivities, music, delicious food and beverages, and animal experiences at this after-hours event exclusively for adults 21+. Purchase tickets at http://www.hutchinsonzoo.org/.

The Annual Hutch Rec Gingerbread House Decorating starts off our Saturday at Memorial Hall from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Santa will be there! Enjoy photo opportunities and carriage rides.

At 3 p.m., head inside the cozy Flag Theater for the Family Community Theatre’s production of A Christmas Story the Musical. Ralphie and the whole gang will be there. Purchase tickets online at https://www.etix.com/ticket/o/4795.

From 4 to 6 p.m. in DCI Park, United Way of Reno County hosts the Spread the Light Holiday Park. Experience a holiday tradition of giving, with area non-profits, festive activities, a live DJ, and food truck alley. Don’t miss the 30 foot Christmas tree in the center of the park!

The festival concludes at 6 p.m. with our spectacular nighttime parade on Main Street. Get there early to secure your spot and visit pop-up vendors for warm treats.

Light Up Hutch Christmas Parade

Saturday, December 6th, 2025

REQUIREMENTS:

  • All floats must be completely lit ON BOTH SIDES, with own power source.
  • Floats must not exceed 65 feet in length, 8 feet in width, and 14 feet in height.
  • It is recommended that each float towing vehicle have a minimum 2A 10bc Fire extinguisher.
  • All marching groups, vehicles, and horses must display lights as as well.
  • An official Santa Claus and/or Mrs. Claus will be provided by parade organizers. No other Santa or Mrs. Claus will be allowed in the parade.
  • No smoking allowed on floats, in the staging area, or along the parade route by participants.
  • For safety reasons, absolutely no items may be thrown from the. You may have a designated person(s) to walk along the parade route to hand out candy, prizes etc.
  • All participants and those assisting with floats will honor and comply with instructions, especially regarding vehicles inside the parade staging area.
  • Those that do not comply with all regulations may not be permitted to participate next year.
  • There will be designated staff at the event to assist you with questions.
