HUTCHINSON, Kan. – Hutchinson Community College is preparing to transition from its current in-house student information system to the new J1 by Jenzabar, a modernized platform designed to improve the student experience and streamline college operations.

As part of this transition, the College anticipates a temporary “go dark” period from July 9 through July 31 while data and services are migrated into the new system. During this time, some online systems and services may be temporarily unavailable or experience limited functionality.

Areas potentially affected during the transition may include:

  • Online registration and enrollment services
  • Student account access
  • Payment processing
  • Transcript and records requests
  • Degree audit and advising tools
  • Portions of the College website connected to student systems

Despite these temporary interruptions, Hutchinson Community College offices will remain open, and staff members will continue assisting current and prospective students, parents, and community members throughout the transition period.

“We are excited to move to a modern student information system that will better serve our students and employees for years to come,” said HutchCC President Dr. Tricia Paramore. “While we know there may be some temporary inconveniences during the transition, our staff is committed to providing assistance every step of the way.”

Students and community members are encouraged to plan ahead for any time-sensitive needs, including enrollment for the fall semester, prior to July 9 whenever possible. Additional updates and information regarding system availability will be communicated as the transition approaches.

The implementation of J1 represents a significant investment in technology infrastructure and student services, positioning Hutchinson Community College to provide enhanced efficiency, accessibility, and support for students from application through graduation.
