Salina Parks and Recreation said in an update Wednesday evening there was an equipment failure that impacted Lazy River Water, requiring it to be drained and re-filled. They currently anticipate being able to re-open for normal hours Saturday.

Salina’s Kenwood Cove Water Park has been temporarily closed due to a hazardous materials incident within the facility.
Salina Parks and Recreation said in a statement said the closure was out of an abundance of caution and to protect the health and safety of guests.
Local emergency responders are actively working to assess the situation as appropriate response protocols, environmental assessments, and remediation procedures are completed.
Kenwood Cove will remain closed with all scheduled programs and public swimming cancelled until the facility is safe to reopen. It was stated the water park may be able to open Thursday morning for water walking.
