HUTCHINSON, Kan. — An arrest has been made in the shooting death of Tyler Lee Ford, whose body was found Sept. 17 at Harvey County East Park east of Newton.
Hutchinson Police Department announced Wednesday Clancy Nelson Jr, 28, was arrested in Aurora, Colorado, a Denver suburb, on charges of second degree murder, aggravated battery and aggravated assault.
Captain Dayton Gates of the Hutchinson Police Department said in a statement during a joint investigation that also involved the Harvey and Reno County Sheriff’s Offices a person of interest was identified, and a search warrant executed at a Hutchinson residence where evidence of the crime was reported.
Nelson, who was taken into custody without incident, was booked into the Adams County Colorado Jail pending extradition back to Kansas.
