HUTCHINSON, Kan. — The 2023 Kansas State Fair is off to a good start. Fair Board members were told Sunday just over 35,000 people went through the gates Saturday, with close to 5,000 attending the Carly Pearce-Megan Moroney concert Saturday night. Pearce mentioned to one of the VIP coordinators this was one of the best organized events she has performed at, including security for the show.
During Sunday’s meeting K-State Research and Extension Director Greg Hadley said 7,415 4-H static exhibits were entered this year, up 125 from 2022. The Fair Board also heard a report on Saturday night’s Grand Drive Youth Livestock event, which was another successful event, and on very strong revenues for the Midway Saturday.
