McPHERSON, Kan. — Dr. Carl Turner has made the decision to dedicate full-time hours in our clinic, discontinuing to offer his obstetrical care services. Below is a message from Dr. Turner speaking to what this decision means for him and his family.

“After much contemplation and with mixed emotions I have made the difficult decision to discontinue offering obstetrical care. This decision was not made lightly but stems from a deep personal desire to dedicate more time to my own family. Over the years, I have been privileged to be a part of many families’ most precious moments, and it has been one of the most fulfilling aspects of my career. I will truly treasure the memories I’ve had with so many of you and hope you know I appreciate the trust you put in me. My commitment to provide great family medicine care for our community at McPherson Hospital remains. I am deeply grateful for the relationships I’ve built and am committed to continue care with all of our current pregnant patients and still accept patients until March 1, 2024, with the plan to stop providing obstetrical care by the end of October 2024. Thank you for your understanding and support as I make this change for the well-being of my family and continued dedication to my practice.”

Dr. Turner will be accepting new OB patients until March 1, 2024. Any OB patients currently under the care of Dr. Turner will see no disruption in care. The hospital will continue delivering for our community and Dr. Lehman Wiens is currently accepting new OB patients. We thank Dr. Turner for the time and care he has given to our OB patients and their families. We look forward to him being more accessible in our clinic, serving our patients in a practice that allows him to serve his own family as well.
