HUTCHINSON, Kan. — The Cosmosphere is proud to once again be participating in Sunflower Summer. The Sunflower Summer program was intended to promote education for kids throughout the season.
The program will begin on July 9th and go through August 2nd. Sunflower Summer provides eligible Kansas students and one accompanying adult with free admission to participating attractions across the state, making it easier than ever for families to explore, learn, and create lasting memories together throughout the summer. Kansas students and families from Pre-k through 12th grade are eligible to participate.
As one of Kansas’ top STEAM education destinations, the Cosmosphere offers visitors an immersive journey through the history and future of space exploration. Guests can explore authentic spacecraft, see flown space artifacts, experience interactive exhibits, and discover one of the world’s most significant collections of U.S. and Russian space artifacts.
In addition to the museum, guests can enhance their visit with optional experiences, including planetarium and dome theater shows, educational programs, and other special offerings available throughout the summer.
Last year, thousands of Sunflower Summer participants visited the Cosmosphere, making it one of the program’s most popular destinations. The museum looks forward to welcoming even more families this year as they discover the stories of the Space Race, America’s journey to the Moon, and the innovations shaping the future of spaceflight.
The Sunflower Summer program is available through the free Sunflower Summer mobile app. Eligible families can download the app, claim their tickets, and begin exploring participating attractions across Kansas.
