HUTCHINSON, Kan. — The Hutchinson Fire Department is currently managing a significant fire incident at 2404 E 4th Avenue. In response to the situation, all available fire apparatus in Hutchinson have been mobilized to effectively manage and contain the fire.
In addition to the Hutchinson Fire Department, mutual aid has been provided by Pretty Prairie District 3, Buhler District 8, and South Hutchinson. Newton and Mcpherson have been requested to help run additional calls while this incident is still undergoing.
Heavy equipment from the Department of Public Works is on the scene, alongside an F500 foam trailer provided by Colwich, to aid in the firefighting efforts.
Due to the intensity of the fire and high temperatures, fire crews are rotating every 20 minutes to ensure proper rehabilitation and hydration. One firefighter has been transported to a local hospital by Reno County EMS and has since been released.
At this time, the fire remains active, and no investigation has yet commenced. Additionally, one individual is currently unaccounted for.
