HUTCHINSON, Kan. – The City of Hutchinson recently announced the launch of the Hutch Housing Infrastructure Grant Program, funded through the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA). This program is designed to respond to the negative impacts on housing as a result of the Covid-19 Pandemic by funding innovative and effective projects that address the housing needs of the City of Hutchinson.
In light of some confusion regarding eligibility requirements, the City of Hutchinson would like to clarify that for-profit organizations do not need to partner with non-profit organizations to apply for this grant program. For-profit organizations are encouraged to apply independently, as long as they can demonstrate how the funding will benefit residents, such as reducing housing costs.
Eligible applicants include public and private institutions, non-profit corporations (including faith-based organizations), and for-profit organizations. The City of Hutchinson welcomes applications from all eligible organizations to implement projects that would improve or increase housing stock in the community.
The official application was released on March 24, 2023, on the City’s website Hutchgov.com. An information session was held online via Microsoft Teams on April 7, 2023. In response to the confusion around eligibility requirements, the City of Hutchinson has decided to extend the due date for applications. All applications for funding are now due by May 12, 2023, by 5:00 PM.
