Buhler City Council Announces Leadership Change in Police Department

BUHLER, Kan. – The City of Buhler has officially announced a change in leadership within its Police Department. 

The Buhler City Council has voted to terminate the employment of former Police Chief Banning, effective immediately.

In response to the vacancy, the City has appointed Officer Brislin as the new Chief of Police. City officials have assured residents that the department will continue to serve the community without interruption.

In a statement, the City Council emphasized that this decision was not made lightly. The governing body stated that their primary responsibility is to the residents of Buhler, and that the action was taken after information surfaced that warranted a formal review. The Council noted that they acted swiftly and thoroughly, adhering to city policy, a process that included providing Chief Banning with the opportunity to be heard.
