McPherson city commissioners are moving ahead with plans to repair deteriorating segments of concrete along Old 81.
Public Works officials say several sections of the roadway between Kansas Avenue and First Street need attention. The worst damage is reported south of the railroad tracks, where portions of concrete have deteriorated and need repair.
The city is now preparing a request for proposals to bring contractors into the project. Officials hope to select a contractor and get the work underway before the end of November.
