The Board of Directors of the United Way of McPherson County announces the appointment of Steve Bahr as its new Executive Director.
Bahr brings more than three decades of local business leadership, dedicated service, and deep-rooted community involvement to the organization. Prior to accepting this role, he spent 31 years as the agent and owner of the American Family Insurance – Steve Bahr Agency in McPherson, where he built a strong reputation for community outreach, organizational leadership, and client service.
Alongside his wife, Peggy, Bahr has called McPherson home for many years. The couple has been married for 36 years, raised three adult children, and remains actively involved in the local community, including as members of St. Joseph Catholic Church. He looks forward to using his experience to support local initiatives and strengthen the McPherson County community.
Bahr steps into the role as United Way of McPherson County actively conducts its annual fundraising campaign, which has set a community goal of $300,000. In his new position, he will oversee strategic initiatives, fundraising efforts, and collaborations with partner agencies to strengthen health, education, and financial stability across McPherson County.
