Newton’s historic depot is under contract for a $500,000 city purchase, with Wichita developer Bruce Rowley handling redevelopment.
The first phase is estimated at $6 million over two to three years. Plans call for a restaurant or brewery downstairs, with apartments and possibly short-term lodging upstairs.
Rowley and his partners are developing a master plan.
