The Eisenhower Presidential Library and Museum in Abilene is hosing a display through July 5th featuring historical American documents from the National Archives as part of the America 250 celebration. Documents on display include the Louisiana Purchase, the Kansas-Nebraska Act, the Treaty of Paris, Brown v. Board of Education and the Korean War Armistice Agreement.
These can be viewed as part of the standard admission ticket, but on Saturday you’ll be able to view these documents free between 9 AM and 6 PM in connection with the Symphony at Sunset D-Day Commemoration Concert. There will also be a free opportunity to view the documents on Independence Day, July 4th.
Symphony at Sunset begins at 4 with activities and food vendors. At 5:30 there will be a concert by The Blades, and a harp performance which will be at the Place of Meditation across from the Library/Museum complex. There will be mounted color guard demonstrations at 6:30 and 8:00, with a concert by the 1st Infantry Division Band at 7 and the Commemoration Concert by the Salina Symphony at 8:30.
