SHARE NOW

The Kansas Highway Patrol, as the State Administrative Agency, invites Kansas law enforcement agencies to apply for the fiscal year 2027 (FY2027) Counter-Unmanned Aircraft Systems (C-UAS) Grant Program.

The FY2027 allocation for the state of Kansas is $3,725,420 statewide, including state-level projects and administration. Funding supports capabilities to detect, identify, monitor, track, and, where authorized, mitigate unlawful drone activity. Allowable activities include planning, organization, equipment, training, and exercises. No matching funds are required and there is no set dollar cap per application. Request only the funding necessary for a clearly justified, appropriately sized project. Projects must demonstrate a connection to terrorism prevention, protection, preparedness, or response.

Kansas state, local, and tribal law enforcement agencies are encouraged to apply. Applications for the FY2027 C-UAS Grant Program must be submitted by 11:59 p.m. (CST) on Wednesday, November 4, 2026.

Priorities include protecting public venues, crowded places, and critical infrastructure and developing coordinated capabilities that can support other jurisdictions. FEMA gives substantial scoring weight to projects supporting federally designated major security events during 2027–2029 and projects providing authorized mobile capabilities to counter threatening drones. Detection-only projects are also eligible, and DHS strongly encourages radar-based detection.

You must have an active Astra account to apply:
