Haven High School’s Isaiah Doherty placed second in the Halstead Invitational varsity boys 5K Monday with a time of 16 minutes, 32.1 seconds.
The Haven varsity boys placed fifth in the meet with 140 points, Halstead was ninth with 207 and Pretty Prairie 12th with 267.
Wichita Defenders’ Lane Bennett won the varsity boys 5K race with a time of 16:30.12.
Haven’s Jayden Idacavage placed 25th, 19:35.43; Jordan Kaufman, 27th, 19:38.87; Camden Behnk, 30th, 19:44.32; Abel Doherty, 56th, 21:18.55; Wyatt Bontrager, 58th, 21:23.95; and Kayden Geffert, 61st, 21:35.18.
Halstead’s Kyren Davis placed 17th, 19:10.53; Johnathan Haspels, 37th, 20:03.4; Eli Wilcox, 41st, 20:24.64; Russell Schroeder, 43rd, 20:29.68; Jonathan Begman, 69th, 22:17.96; Kolton Rump, 72nd, 22:30.02; and Max Whorton, 73rd, 22:42.14.
Pretty Prairie’s Malachi Goering placed 28th, 19:39.01; Eli Young, 42nd, 20:24.65; Lucas Miller, 55th, 21:14.36; Zac England, 65th, 21:50.36; and Michael Ramirez, 77th, 23:37.8.
Smoky Valley placed first with 85 points, followed by Wichita Defenders Homeschool 92, Wichita Collegiate 110 and Goddard 134.
Towanda Circle placed sixth with 146 points, followed by Marion 152 and Medicine Lodge 179. Belle Plaine was 10th with 216 and Classical School of Wichita 258. Clearwater was 13th with 256.
Smoky Valley placed five runners in the top 22 to win the meet title, led by three freshmen. Treyton Falcon placed 13th, 19:04.35; Jess Kindlesparger, 19:05.25; and Jarett Kindlesparger, 15th, 19:08.13.
Tucker Waters and Isaiah Ayala placed 21st and 22nd, 19:28.72 and 19:31.7. Huck Toll and Charles Bowman placed 53rd and 62nd, 21:05.76 and 21:45.68.
