A vehicle fire on I-135 disrupted traffic on Friday evening. Emergency crews responded to the southbound lane near milepost 77 at 6:34pm after a report of a burning vehicle.
Roy Lawson, 63, from Horton, Kansas, was driving his 2004 GMC Envoy when he saw smoke coming from the engine compartment. He pulled over to the side of the highway. Moments later, the front of the vehicle caught fire.
Saline County Rural Fire District 2 and Lindsborg Fire District 8 responded to the scene and put out the fire. No injuries were reported. Damage is listed at $3,000.
