McPherson Remains Undefeated in KCAC with Win over Ottawa

Ottawa, Kansas – The McPherson Bulldogs Women’s Soccer traveled to Ottawa to take on the Ottawa University Braves on Saturday afternoon. The Bulldogs posted their fourth straight win to remain undefeated in the KCAC.

How it Happened
The Bulldogs opened scoring with Jordyn Smith finding the back of the net on a penalty kick in the eighth minute. The match remained scoreless for the rest of the half with McPherson leading 1-0 going into halftime. In the 51st minute, Kennedy Halter scored from almost 30 yards out off a long ball from Smith. Smith then scored her second goal of the day in the 88th minute with an assist from Arianna Diaz. The Braves escaped a shutout with a goal in the 90th minute to make the score 3-1.

Goalkeeper Emily Singletary had five saves in goal for the Bulldogs. Both teams had 12 shots, with McPherson putting nine on goal and Ottawa putting six on goal.
