Allen Rallies Past NEO in Five-Set Thriller

Allen Community College volleyball battled back from multiple deficits Monday night to earn a 3-2 victory over Northeastern Oklahoma A&M College.

The Red Devils took the opening set 26-24, while hitting .278%, before NEO answered with wins in the second and third sets, 25-19 and 25-23. Allen responded with a dominant fourth set, winning 25-16 with 13 total kills, hitting .237%. Allen was able to close out the match with a close 15-13 victory in the fifth.

Taylor Damme led Allen offensively with 20 kills on 54 attacks while adding 11 digs and a block for a team-high 21 points. Damme hit .130% on the night.

Kailee Hansen finished with 11 kills on 30 attacks, along with two service aces and two blocks. Kahena Di Grazia recorded four kills on just eight attacks without an error, hitting .500 for the match.

Maria Santana, Baylee Belt and Kamryn Love each added seven kills. Santana hit .250 with four digs and two blocks, while Love hit .400 with one error and added a block and two block assists. Belt contributed 15 digs and two service aces.

Jaidyn Follis led the Red Devils with 25 assists, while Morgan McKinney added 22 assists and five service aces. Alyssa Haefele recorded a team-high 18 digs and two aces.

The Red Devils totaled 56 kills, 52 assists, 12 service aces and 72 digs in the match.

ACC is now 10-9 on the season, 1-3 in conference play,  and currency sits in 8th place in the conference.

Allen will return to action Sept. 30 at Highland (13-12, 1-3) with first serve set for 6:00 PM.
