Lindsborg, Kan. – The Bethany College Swedes Football team played host to the Southwestern College Moundbuilders for an interdivisional showdown.
The Swedes were able to win the fourth quarter 16-13, but that would just lessen the blow of the final score.
Offensively, it was a tale of two half for the Swedes as 196 of their 211 yards came in the second half. Damian Briano drew the start and threw for 111 yards and a touchdown. Briano also tacked on 55 yards on the ground which also led Bethany’s ground attack. Ryker Grossner caught six passes for 63 yards while Jonathan Cano caught his only pass in the end zone.
On defense, Nathan Wilson had a busy day tallying 12 total tackles and an interception on the opening drive of the contest. Six different Swedes recorded at least 0.5 sacks with Destine Deans leading the way with two tackles for loss.
