Tense moments inside a convenience store in Salina. According to Police Captain Jim Feldman, around 5:30am officers were sent to the Kwik Shop on West Crawford Wednesday morning to the report of a man threatening employees with a knife.
Staff reported a subject identified as 43-year-old Maurio Williams had been in the store earlier being belligerent and was told to leave, which he did. He then returned a short time later and began threatening to stab the clerk while holding a knife.
Williams was still on store property, with the knife, when officers arrived. Police were able to get Williams to drop the knife and he was taken into custody without incident. He was booked into the Saline County jail in reference to aggravated assault, criminal threat and trespassing.
