The Buhler Crusaders volleyball team earned a split in Tuesday’s triangular against Clearwater and Andale.
In the first match, Buhler handled Clearwater easily, winning 25-15 and 25-12. The Crusaders’ relentless attack never allowed the Indians an opportunity to build a sustained rally. Buhler’s offense was efficient, recording 19 kills in the match. Tori Tustian led the way with seven kills. Defensively, Buhler was paced by Rorey Waldren, Addysyn Keller, and Renee Hancock, who recorded nine, six, and six digs, respectively.
In the second match of the night, Buhler fell to Andale 17-25 and 22-25. After dropping the first set, Buhler held a lead late in the second but ultimately succumbed to too many unforced errors. Tustian and Waldren led the Crusaders offensively, each tallying four kills. Hancock again played well defensively, totaling seven digs.
The split leaves Buhler with a 2-7 record. The Crusaders will travel to Mulvane next Tuesday to face Mulvane and Winfield, beginning at 4:30 p.m.
